Lynnport, Pa. — October 19 — After several months of training, Firefighter I candidates finished their last live-fire evolutions at Lynnport Community Fire Co. No. 1, 7164 Behler Rd., New Tripoli, Pennsylvania. Hose line progression, interior fire attack, search operations, ventilation, and coordinated teamwork were the main topics of the day's controlled burn scenarios that the group worked through.
Every evolution was overseen by instructors who had led the class from the beginning, making sure that students adhered to NFPA-based training procedures and Pennsylvania State Fire Academy requirements. Before proceeding to a formal evaluation, the session gave candidates one final chance to hone their skills.
