Kutztown, Pa. — November 16 — The Weisenberg Volunteer Fire Department revealed their annual Santa Run route this week, signalling the start of preparations for the popular community event. The department urged community members who are interested in helping to think about volunteering, pointing out that a variety of abilities may support activities like this. However, finalizing the route, organizing volunteers, and creating the schedule need substantial planning.

Firefighters underwent hose line advancement training using a simulated townhouse situation with a fire on the back porch in addition to the planning work. Crews rehearsed approaching the fire, managing limited space, and coordinating movements while advancing the line into position because the layout of townhomes can provide tight access spots and obstructions.
