Center Valley, Pa. — November 13 — On Thursday afternoon, the Upper Saucon Volunteer Fire Department responded to a home fire in Lower Saucon Township. With a crew of five, Engine 27 arrived to support local businesses that were already working there. As personnel attempted to confine the fire and check for extension within the home, firefighters provided water, manpower, and tool support.

Because of the area's mix of agricultural and residential properties, mutual help reactions between Upper Saucon and Lower Saucon are frequent. In order to guarantee sufficient staffing for suppression, ventilation, and overhaul, daytime calls sometimes bring together several departments.
