Kutztown, Pa. — November 7 — Three calls were handled by the Weisenberg Volunteer Fire Department on Friday: a car collision, a police assist, and an automated fire alarm. When necessary, crews assisted law police, finished their checks, and cleared each scene without any significant problems.

Firefighters also participated in a practical training program during the week that was intended to strengthen fundamental abilities. Before advancing a hose line, carrying saws, conducting a search and completing the drill by putting a bolt into a nut, members put on full turnout gear and SCBA. Firefighters were able to practise common skills under a little strain during the exercise, which also introduced a little competition.
