Allentown, Pa. — November 6 — Late on Thursday night, the Allentown Fire Department responded to a fire in an apartment complex located at 207 North 10th Street. Together with Engine 4, Engine 6 and Truck 2 from the Ridge Avenue station participated in the first-alarm assignment. When the crews arrived, they discovered a large fire on the back outdoor stairwell that extended to the second floor.

While outside personnel battled to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent residences and cars, firefighters pushed handlines to the interior. Employees of the truck company improved access and ventilation by opening up the higher sections surrounding the stair system. After synchronised operations both inside and outside, the fire was contained.
