Garden Spot Fire Rescue (GSFR39) reported that crews, along with surrounding mutual-aid companies, were dispatched Friday afternoon around 1:30 p.m. to an outbuilding fire on North Railroad Avenue in Earl Township. Command officers arrived to find an outdoor waste-oil-fired wood furnace and its surrounding covering on fire, with a nearby shed and the residence at immediate risk of igniting.
According to GSFR39, engine companies quickly deployed multiple hose lines to knock down the main body of fire, cool nearby waste-oil tanks, and establish protection lines for the threatened structures. The prompt and coordinated response prevented the fire from spreading to the shed and the home.
GSFR39 stated that the incident was later scaled back to their units and Company 35 (Farmersville) to complete overhaul. Crews operated for roughly 45 minutes before returning to service.
