Parkesburg, Pa. — November 12 —The Chester County Commissioners have issued a proclamation designating November as Carbon Monoxide Awareness Month, which the Keystone Valley Fire Department will observe. The effort is inspired by the work of the Carly Imbierowicz Foundation, which was established following Carly Imbierowicz's untimely death from carbon monoxide poisoning in 2016. CO, sometimes known as the "silent killer," has no odor or color, making early identification vital.

To honor Carly's memory, the Imbierowicz family continues to give free CO detectors to homes who may not have one, so as to prevent similar tragedies. KVFD encourages folks to learn about CO safety and the foundation's goal at www.cmiawareness.org. They also applaud the Imbierowicz family for turning their loss into a lifesaving effort that improves communities throughout the region.
