October 25, 2025 — The Whiting Fire Company reported a productive morning of training at the Ocean County Fire Academy, where multiple members advanced their skills through certification exams and hands-on instruction.
Four firefighters successfully completed their Aerial (Ladder Truck) Operator Certification, an important step as the number of multi-story structures in the department’s first-due area continues to increase. With elevated operations becoming more common, the department has prioritized training and long-term readiness, positioning itself for the eventual addition of an aerial apparatus. The certification followed recent Truck Company Operations training completed by most members.
In addition, recruits R. Rizzolo and C. Rizzolo completed their Firefighter I hands-on practical exam, bringing them one step closer to graduation and full operational status.
The department congratulated all personnel involved and commended their commitment to training, preparedness, and professional growth.
