October 26, 2025 — The Whiting Fire Company Station 33 and all Manchester Township fire companies responded late Sunday evening to a confirmed structure fire in Crestwood Village. The incident was dispatched at 10:22 p.m., following multiple reports of heavy fire and the potential involvement of several dwellings.
While en route, Assistant Chief 3310 upgraded the incident to a second alarm based on incoming information, adding mutual aid from Stations 17 (RIT), 20, 39, 60, 62, and 67.
Assistant Chief 3310 arrived to find a single-family dwelling fully involved, with heavy fire showing from the structure. All residents were confirmed to be safely accounted for; however, pets were believed to still be inside.
Engine 3301 arrived as the first-due unit and was ordered to establish a water supply and initiate suppression using the engine’s deck gun to achieve an initial knockdown. Firefighters then deployed two handlines—a 2.5-inch and a 1.75-inch attack line—to continue suppression efforts. Crews attempted an interior push before transitioning fully to aerial operations, due to the significant fire volume that remained.
No injuries to firefighters or first responders were reported. The Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office and the Manchester Police Department are investigating the cause of the fire.
