November 6, 2025 — Members of Hampton Township Fire & Rescue, along with Township representatives, attended the grand opening of the new Hampton Wawa on Thursday morning. The event marked the community-focused company’s official launch in the township, highlighting Wawa’s long-standing tradition of supporting local organizations and giving back to the communities they serve.
As part of the celebration, HTF&R members competed against the New Jersey State Police in the Hoagies for Heroes hoagie-building competition. The friendly two-minute contest was close, with HTF&R producing 13 sandwiches and the NJSP team assembling 19.
The department expressed its gratitude to Wawa for the invitation and congratulated the business on the opening of its new Hampton location.
“Thank you for having us, Wawa of Hampton, and congratulations once again,” the department said.
