Parkesburg, Pa. — October 28 —The Keystone Valley Fire Department commemorated National First Responders Day by recognizing the firefighters, EMS providers, police officers, dispatchers, and all emergency professionals who serve their communities every day. Former Chief Gathercole represented KVFD as part of a live studio audience of first responders on Fox & Friends, an event sponsored by BELFOR Property Restoration and 1-800-BOARDUP. The program brought together first responders from all over the country to receive national recognition and appreciation.

Later in the day, first responders from Chester County took a guided tour of the 9/11 Museum. KVFD recognized the significance of visiting the site on National First Responders Day, underlining the courage and sacrifice demonstrated on September 11 and by those who continue to serve today. The agency thanked all volunteers and career workers for their commitment to public safety and continuous dedication to the communities they serve.
