Franklin Township Fire Dept. & EMS Thanks Mutual Aid Partners Following Large-Scale Multi-Day Fire

The Franklin Township Fire Department & EMS recognized National First Responders Day by expressing deep appreciation for the many mutual aid partners who assisted during a major incident earlier in the month of October.


On Tuesday, October 14th, Franklin Township crews—along with numerous departments from across multiple counties—responded to a brush fire that rapidly grew into a hay storage building fire. The incident stretched over three days, requiring extensive manpower, tankers, equipment, and sustained support. Throughout the operation, volunteers and emergency personnel worked tirelessly to contain the fire while additional agencies stood by, ready to respond to other emergencies across the county.


The department extended heartfelt thanks to the following agencies for their outstanding assistance and dedication:


Belvidere (21), Harmony (23), Mansfield (28), Oxford (39), Knowlton (41), Mt. Lake (72), Independence (73), Lopatcong (74), Huntington Fire (75), Washington Twp (76), Hackettstown (78), Alpha (82), Washington Boro (83), Frelinghuysen (84), Phillipsburg (94), Stewartsville Fire (98), Greenwich EMS (98), Glen Gardner (12), Hampton (13), Holland (15), Milford (92), Branchville (24), Fairmount (34), Montague (35), the New Jersey State Police, Warren County Department of Public Safety, Warren County Fire Coordinator, Hunterdon County Fire Coordinator, Warren County Fire Marshal, New Jersey Forest Fire Service, Stewartsville Ladies Auxiliary, and the Franklin Township Ladies Auxiliary.


Warren County, NJ uses a numerical identification system for its fire and EMS agencies. Each municipality or fire company is assigned a unique number for dispatching and mutual-aid coordination.


Franklin Township Fire & EMS emphasized how grateful they are to have such skilled, dedicated, and selfless partners who consistently step up when the community needs them most.
