Franklin, N.J. — November 13 — Franklin Fire Company #1 volunteers completed a multi-stage training exercise tonight involving a simulated vehicle crash in the woods with an entrapped driver and an engine-compartment fire. Crews practiced stabilizing the vehicle, using rescue tools, and removing the trapped occupant under realistic conditions.
After the simulated driver was brought to safety, firefighters transitioned into a brush fire scenario caused by the vehicle fire. The drill incorporated multiple pieces of rescue equipment along with UTV 33 to manage access and water supply in the wooded area.
The department noted that exercises like this help members stay sharp and prepare for complex calls that require quick adjustments and coordinated operations.
