Scranton, Pa. — November 11 — A second-alarm residential structure fire in the East Mountain neighbourhood prompted Scranton firefighters to respond on Tuesday afternoon. Within minutes, Engine 10—led by Lieutenant Kobierecki and manned by four—arrived, verified that every person had left, then pulled lines and launched the initial assault. Acting Assistant Chief Polansky brought all on-duty staff to the area after requesting a second alert based on the circumstances.
Despite difficult circumstances, crews managed to contain the fire in less than an hour. During the event, off-duty personnel were called in to staff reserve equipment and keep the rest of the city covered. During a multi-company residential fire, the response demonstrated well-coordinated operations and efficient deployment.
