Mayfield, Pa. — October 28 — As part of the first-alarm assignment to the City of Carbondale on Tuesday, the William Walker Hose Company responded to a reported porch fire. In addition to helping Carbondale personnel with overhaul operations, Rescue 59 made sure the situation did not spread into the main structure and checked for hidden flames. The rescue team soon resumed operations after it was determined that the situation was stable.

The response demonstrated Mayfield and Carbondale's continued mutual-aid collaboration, which supports prompt fire suppression and follow-up work during minor structural incidents.
