Cherry Hill, N.J. — November 7 —The Cherry Hill Fire Department units responded to the high-rise fire at The Grand Apartments, Friday afternoon. Once the crews arrived, they found the fire burning on a balcony and the smoke was coming out of the balcony. They made the fire go out very quickly, and the fire didn’t extend to the rest of the building. No one was hurt in the accident, and the fire engines went away after making sure it was safe. The department reminded residents to keep their smoke detectors in working condition and to review building exit routes. Occupants of high-rise are advised to be aware of the stair locations in their buildings as elevators are usually not in use during fire emergencies. After the incident, the residents were given safety advice and some more information.
