Wilkins Township, Pa. — November 1 — At about 11:30 a.m., Wilkins Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 3 was called to a possible house fire with reported entrapment while crews were out on a detail. As units responded, dispatch informed them that the caller thought the fire was out and suggested canceling the response. However, the responding companies continued until an officer could confirm the situation.
302 Chief arrived first and saw active fire coming from the rear windows of the home. When Truck 303 arrived, they forced entry through the front door and conducted a full search, finding no victims. After quickly changing air bottles, the crew went back inside to start putting out the fire. Engine 303 arrived shortly after and set up a second water supply.
Crews worked for several hours to control the fire and complete an overhaul. Wilkins Township VFC No. 3 recognized the teamwork of all companies that took part in the response.
