Highland Hose Company Honors the Legacy of Firefighter Michael J. Sims Sr.

Tarentum, Pa. — November 4 — Highland Hose Company took a moment today to honor Firefighter Michael J. Sims Sr., who answered his last call on November 3, 1999. Members thought about his dedication to the community and the lasting impact he had on the department during more than twenty years of service.

Sims joined Highland Hose on November 13, 1978. He was known for his steady presence, reliability, and willingness to help fellow firefighters during both routine and high-risk situations. Colleagues remarked that he brought a sense of responsibility and teamwork to every call, helping to set the standard for those who came after him.
