Mutual Aid Teams Join Brigantine Crews in Battling Vardon Road Fire

Brigantine, N.J. — October 22 —Brigantine firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire on Vardon Road around 2:00 p.m. on Monday after an off-duty member noticed heavy smoke and flames visible from across the golf course.
When they arrived, crews found a strong fire at the back of a house, with flames threatening nearby homes. A second and third alarm were quickly called in to get more manpower and resources to the scene. Firefighters set up a secure water supply and used multiple hose lines to contain the fire before it spread any further.
The main structure suffered significant fire damage, while two nearby homes only had minor exterior damage. Firefighters brought the fire under control by 2:58 p.m. due to the teamwork of Brigantine Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 2657 and the Atlantic City Fire Department.
?Galloway EMS provided rehabilitation for firefighters at the scene. Meanwhile, the Absecon Fire Department took care of Station 1 during the incident. No injuries were reported. The Brigantine Fire and EMS Department is investigating the cause of the fire.
