Neptune, Pa, Oct 26: It was a busy 48 hours for the Neptune Fire Company, Department 31, as members managed several calls and participated in community outreach during the annual Trunk or Treat event at Reservoir Park.
On Monday evening, firefighters went to Pennsylvania Avenue and 14th Street for a two-vehicle head-on crash. Rescue 33 and Engine 34 responded and found both vehicles blocking lanes, along with debris and fluid spills on the road. Crews worked to remove hazards and help with traffic control until the scene was safe.
Earlier Tuesday afternoon, crews responded to a small animal rescue involving a dog trapped in an elevator. Engine 34 and Rescue 33 were canceled by police upon arrival when the situation was resolved without the fire department’s help.
Later that day, at 4:54 p.m., while members were participating in the Trunk or Treat event, Tyrone Fire was dispatched to assist Bald Eagle Fire with a hunter rescue after a 40-foot fall from a tree. UTV 36, Engine 34, and Rescue 33 responded, working alongside other units to package and transfer the patient to EMS care.
