Knox Dale, Pa. — November 10 — In order to finish the DCNR Forestry Wildland Fire Training in Knox Dale, firefighters from multiple Jefferson County departments battled the chilly and damp weather. During the practical exercise, firefighters practiced setting up control lines, halting the spread of the fire, and performing mop-up operations in a mock forests fire.

The Knox Township Volunteer Fire Department, Sigel Stations 19 and 14, Oliver Township Station 5, Falls Creek Station 4, and MillCreek Township Station 590 were among the participants. Teamwork, communication, and using wildland firefighting techniques in practical settings were the main objectives of the exercise.
