YOUNGWOOD, Pa. — October 11 — Training, community outreach, and emergency responses were all part of the Youngwood Volunteer Fire Department's comprehensive Fire Prevention Week. To hone their leadership and decision-making abilities, fifteen firemen attended a Company Officer Tactical Incident Command class at the station at the start of the week.

Members spent more than 16 hours teaching kids about fire safety and prevention at four local learning centres during the course of the week. With six emergency calls on Saturday, the department ended the week with a total of 26 calls for the month.
