Indiana Crews Engage Schools and Residents Throughout Fire Prevention Month.

INDIANA, Pa. — October 27 — For the Indiana Fire Association, October has been a busy month that combines emergency response, fire prevention outreach, and community events. Members took part in the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Homecoming Parade on October 4 to start the month, and they proceeded with a busy schedule of public education events and school visits.

Crews taught youngsters about fire safety at a number of schools and daycare centers, including East Pike, Ben Franklin, Eisenhower, Beacon Daycare, St. Bernard's, and Adelphoi. Additionally, the department participated in the Indiana Area High School "Salute to Heroes" football game on October 17 and Lowe's First Responder Day on October 18. handed over 1,000 candies on October 25 at the Downtown Indiana Trick-or-Treat event.
