BLACK LICK, Pa. — October 24 — Families flocked to Dairy Queen for a neighborhood "Trunk or Treat," where Black Lick Volunteer Fire Company members welcomed guests and displayed one of their engines. In a laid-back, family-friendly environment, kids could tour the truck, learn about the equipment, and interact with local firemen.
Prior to Halloween, the outreach initiative sought to improve community relations and raise awareness of fire safety. Firefighters responded to enquiries, offered safety advice, and urged prospective volunteers to participate in community service.
