Newbury, N.H. — October 29 —Newbury Fire Rescue held its monthly emergency medical services (EMS) training. The focus was on recognizing and treating heart-related emergencies. Robin Behl from the New Hampshire Fire Academy led the session and gave a detailed presentation on cardiac response procedures. After the classroom portion, participants practiced hands-on skills using the Fire Academy’s computer-enhanced training mannequin. The lifelike simulator allowed attendees to assess a pulse, monitor a beating heart and lungs, and see real-time feedback on their performance through a tablet interface.
