South Deerfield, Mass. — November 8 —Tower 1 from the South Deerfield Fire Department sent mutual aid to Amherst shortly after midnight in response to a multi-alarm structure fire on Olympia Drive.
South Deerfield crews assisted Amherst firefighters with aerial operations and overhaul efforts as part of a coordinated response involving several neighboring departments. The teamwork and swift mutual-aid deployment helped bring the large-scale incident under control safely.
