WILKINSBURG, PA – At 9:10 P.M. on October 29th, City of Pittsburgh firefighters were dispatched to a reported house fire near the intersection of Swissvale Avenue and South Avenue in the Borough of Wilkinsburg. Crews quickly arrived to find a vacant home on South Avenue fully involved with an exposure on the 'Delta' side. Master streams were set up as firefighters worked to protect the exposure house. About 15 minutes into the incident, the home collapsed. The exposure home did sustain some fire damage, but was not destroyed. The fire was placed under control at 9:56 P.M. No injuries were reported. The Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s Office is now investigating.
