Tonight, members of Nashua Fire Rescue took part in the first of two vehicle extrication training sessions scheduled for this month. Firefighters had the opportunity to practice critical rescue techniques using spreaders, cutters, and other hand tools to gain access to vehicles involved in simulated emergencies.

Training scenarios included removing doors, trunks, and roofs, as well as performing dashboard lifts to simulate freeing trapped occupants. Despite the dreary and wet weather, crews remained focused and committed — reflecting the reality of conditions they may face during actual incidents.

This hands-on training helps ensure our firefighters remain prepared for any rescue situation, rain or shine.

Nashua Fire Rescue extends sincere thanks to Turnpike Auto for generously donating the vehicles used in this vital training exercise.
