Nashua, NH — November 4, 2025, 11:23 a.m.
At approximately 11:23 a.m., Nashua Fire Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting a motor vehicle accident on the F.E. Everett Turnpike involving a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle. Callers indicated that the passenger vehicle was trapped beneath the truck with occupants pinned inside.
Engine 5, Engine 1, Ladder 1, and the on-duty Deputy Chief were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, Engine 5 confirmed that the passenger vehicle had become wedged under a box truck, with the driver heavily entrapped. Due to the extent of the entrapment and the patient’s serious injuries, a MedFlight helicopter was immediately requested.
Additional units, including Engine 2 and Special Hazards, were called to provide extrication support, followed by Ladder 3 to assist. The Turnpike was shut down in both directions to allow Boston MedFlight to land safely at the scene.
At 11:59 a.m., the helicopter landed just as rescue crews successfully freed the trapped driver. Within ten minutes, the patient was airborne and transported to a Boston hospital for advanced care. A child passenger in the vehicle sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
Nashua Fire Rescue commended the swift coordination among responding crews and agencies, which ensured a rapid rescue under challenging circumstances.
