Manchester, Vt. — November 1 — On Saturday, Manchester Fire Department crews responded to a reported gas odor at a downtown retail building. The structure had already been evacuated and aired out by management.
Gas meters showed zero readings on the first floor. Chief Chris Towslee requested Tower 1 to check rooftop HVAC units, which also registered no gas. All units, including Tower 1 and Engine 5, cleared shortly after confirming safe conditions.
Building management was advised to follow up with service personnel. MFD also reminds residents to check smoke, fire, and gas alarms when setting clocks back.
