Valley Stream, N.Y. — November 2 — The Valley Stream Volunteer Fire Department responded mutual aid to assist the Elmont Fire Department at a house fire on Bauer Street. Engine 344 and Tower Ladder 345, under the command of Chief Capone, operated on scene assisting with suppression and overhaul operations.
The fire was quickly brought under control by Elmont crews with support from surrounding departments. Valley Stream units remained on scene for about an hour before returning to service in the village. The call reflected the continued strong cooperation among Nassau County fire departments during mutual aid responses.
