Valley Stream, N.Y. — October 20 — The Valley Stream Volunteer Fire Department had a busy afternoon, responding to multiple calls including a working fire and a vehicle fire.
Around midday, units were dispatched to a stove fire on Rose Avenue. First Assistant Chief Colucci arrived to find fire behind the stove and in the basement ceiling, prompting a Signal 10 (Working Fire) and mutual aid from nearby departments. Engine 344 and Ladder 346 arrived first due and quickly brought the fire under control. No injuries were reported.
