The statewide outside burning ban has been officially lifted by Governor Ayotte and the New Hampshire Division of Forests and Lands as of October 29, 2025.

Today’s fire danger is classified as Class 2 – Moderate, meaning outdoor burning is allowed with a valid burn permit. Permits can be obtained for free at either the Central Fire Station (next to Buckley’s) or the South Merrimack Station.

For any questions about outdoor burning, residents are encouraged to contact the Merrimack Fire Department at (603) 424-3690. Burn permits are also available online through the NH Division of Forests and Lands website.
