Cambridge, Mass. — October 28 —In an effort to balance skill development with continuing emergency responses and routine tasks, Cambridge Fire Department members have been reviewing roof ladder deployment techniques throughout the week. During the training, all participants used a 28-foot ground ladder and an aerial ladder to deploy roof ladders while wearing full PPE and SCBAs.

On October 28, Ladder 1, Squad 4, Rescue 1, and Division 1 participated in the evolutions under Group 3. The training emphasized proper ladder handling, positioning, and safety during roof operations—essential practices for effective ventilation and firefighter safety on the fireground.
