CFD Conducts Side Scan Sonar Training on the Charles River

Cambridge, Mass. — October 24 — The Cambridge Fire Department used the EdgeTech 4125 sonar system to train Side Scan Sonar on the Charles River. Marine Operators and Divers from each of the four groups participated in the session to receive practical training in underwater imaging and search methods. The sonar technology allows crews to identify submerged objects and hazards in near-zero visibility conditions—an essential tool for recovery and rescue operations in urban waterways.
