North Stonington, CT — October 21 — On the evening, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Old Mystic Fire Department (Official) was dispatched to address a commercial structure fire in North Stonington following a request for assistance.

Old Mystic units G-67 and G-65 collectively deployed ten personnel to bolster fireground operations, providing sustained assistance to scene crews until approximately 11:45 p.m., at which point they were relieved by Incident Command.

A conflagration erupted at a commercial facility situated on Frontage Road, which local media have pinpointed as 75 Frontage Road. The blaze precipitated a substantial mutual-aid mobilization, drawing fire departments and emergency services from across southeastern Connecticut and adjacent Rhode Island municipalities.

Local accounts indicate that the blaze engulfed a commercial complex housing numerous enterprises. Emergency responders labored throughout the night to contain the situation, prompting the deployment of supplementary assets as the operation progressed.

Although ten personnel from Old Mystic were deployed to the incident scene, the remainder of the department's workforce stayed within the district to ensure full coverage and maintain the capacity for emergency response to all calls falling within their primary jurisdiction.

Sustaining personnel and apparatus coverage throughout prolonged mutual-aid operations remained a cornerstone of the regional emergency response framework. By adopting a staffing strategy that enabled department members to deploy to neighboring jurisdictions without compromising local response capacity, the organization effectively balanced external assistance with the imperative to maintain robust readiness at home.
