Fire Ban Still in Effect, Officials Warn

The Mason Fire / EMS Department reminds residents that the statewide fire ban remains in effect despite recent cooler temperatures and rainfall. As of October 18, 2025, dry conditions continue to pose a significant wildfire risk across the region.
Officials urge everyone to avoid open burning and to follow the Governor’s proclamation prohibiting outdoor fires and smoking near woodlands. Even small campfires or debris burns can quickly spread under current conditions.
“Everything is still very dry. Be careful out there,” the department stated in a public update. Residents are encouraged to stay alert for future advisories before resuming any open burning activities.
