October 9, 2025 — The Westmoreland Volunteer Fire Department hosted its annual Fire Prevention Day at the Westmoreland Primary Elementary School, giving students an engaging and educational look at fire safety and prevention.

Firefighters spent the day teaching children about emergency preparedness, the importance of having a home escape plan, and what to do if a fire occurs.

A highlight of the event was the department’s beloved Fire Safety Puppet Show, which combined entertainment with valuable safety lessons, helping students remember how to stay safe in a fun, interactive way.

The department thanked all members who volunteered their time to make the event a success, reaffirming their commitment to educating the community’s youngest residents about fire prevention.
