October 14, 2025 — Volunteer firefighters from the Whitesboro Volunteer Fire Department spent Tuesday evening honing their rescue skills, practicing a series of hands-on drills focused on victim extrication and rope rescue techniques.
Using Tower 1 as part of the scenario, crews simulated situations involving trapped victims and worked together to safely lift, lower, and remove individuals from elevated or confined areas. The training emphasized teamwork, communication, and technical proficiency.
“This hands-on, team-developed training gives our volunteers the tools and confidence they need to respond effectively when these types of emergencies occur,” the department said.
Regular skill-based training, they added, ensures that firefighters remain prepared, efficient, and safe in any rescue situation.
