Yorkville Assistant Chief Honored on First Responders Day

October 28, 2025 — Members of the Yorkville Fire & Hose Company joined fellow first responders from across the region at the State Office Building on Tuesday to celebrate National First Responders Day.


During the ceremony, Assistant Chief Scott Adsit was recognized for his calm leadership, compassion, and dedication to public service, qualities that have made him a respected leader within the department and the community.

“This recognition is a proud reflection of one of our finest leaders,” the department said. “We are truly thankful for his service to the people of Yorkville.”


The event was sponsored by Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon and Gates Cole Insurance, who organized the gathering to honor the bravery, professionalism, and sacrifice of local emergency personnel.

Yorkville Fire congratulated Assistant Chief Adsit and all other award recipients, commending their continued commitment to serving and protecting their communities.
