The Yorkville Fire Department completed its annual fire hydrant inspections over the weekend of October 18–19, 2025. The inspections took place on Saturday, October 18, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, October 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The inspection area included the Village of Yorkville and the Yorkville Fire District, covering several surrounding neighborhoods. The routine maintenance was carried out to ensure all fire hydrants were functioning properly and capable of providing adequate water pressure in emergency situations.

The Fire Department had advised homeowners to check their water before drinking or doing laundry, and to avoid using hot water if the cold water appeared discolored. Fire crews operated hydrants throughout the area to flush the system and clear up any lingering discoloration.

Residents with additional questions about the inspections or lingering water issues were directed to contact the Water Authority at (315) 792-0301.
