Colchester, Vt. — October 7 — At approximately 1:15 p.m., the Colchester Fire Department, Colchester Rescue Squad, Colchester Police Department, and Colchester Technical Rescue responded to the Colchester Causeway for a report of a helicopter experiencing mechanical issues and making an emergency landing on the pathway.
The on-duty chief officer requested mutual aid from the Vermont Air National Guard Fire Department for an aircraft suppression apparatus as a precaution. Upon arrival, crews found one helicopter on the causeway with the pilot already out of the aircraft. No injuries were reported, and no fuel leaks or fire hazards were present.
