Durham, N.H. — October 29 — Firefighters from the Durham Fire Department participated in a hands-on training session at the Durham Public Works facility focusing on electric rescue tools and stabilization techniques. The training was conducted by instructors from IPS and FireMatic, giving members the opportunity to strengthen their skills in jacking and lifting operations using rescue struts.
The session emphasized safe and efficient handling of modern battery-powered extrication equipment, allowing firefighters to adapt to evolving vehicle construction and rescue scenarios. Special recognition was given to Chief Atwater for organizing the training and to Captain Kustra for securing a vehicle for each shift to conduct realistic practice.
