Atlantic Beach, N.Y. — October 16 — Atlantic Beach Rescue and the Long Beach Fire Department responded to a deck collapse on Montgomery Boulevard just after 1:28 p.m. Crews arrived to find one person injured after the deck gave way during repair work.

Atlantic Beach Rescue Ambulance 369 transported the patient to the base of the Atlantic Beach Bridge, where a Nassau County Police Department helicopter airlifted them to Nassau University Medical Center. Tower Ladder 2372 and Heavy Rescue 232 secured the scene, with Engine 2342 handling the landing zone. All operations were directed by Assistant Chief Hadrick Ray.
