Tri-Village, N.Y. — October 27 —Morning commuters on State Route 145 experienced delays after a one-car rollover near Arnold Road led to a major emergency response involving Tri-Village Fire, Albany County Sheriff’s EMS, and multiple law enforcement agencies. Early reports indicated that a school bus was also involved in the crash.
The first chief arrived and verified that there were no entrapments and that all seven of the students on the bus were unharmed. The car's driver was only slightly hurt. Responders found two packages in the car marked "Radioactive Material" while cleaning up. The children were moved to the Tri-Village firehouse while the materials were being safely removed, and the NYSP Haz-Mat Team was contacted out of caution.
For approximately three hours, State Route 145 remained closed, and Oak Hill–Durham Fire crews helped with traffic control.
