New York, N.Y.—October 4— The New York City Fire Department (FDNY) hosted Family Day at the EMS Academy in Fort Totten, where probationary EMTs welcomed families and friends for a look into their 13 weeks of training.
Visitors observed demonstrations of life-saving techniques, equipment use, and teamwork that define the FDNY’s Emergency Medical Services program. The event allowed recruits to showcase the skills they have developed while offering families a better understanding of the challenges and dedication required in emergency response.
