Jefferson Hills, PA - Emergency crews from Jefferson Hills Fire-Rescue performed a successful mechanical extrication Saturday after a motor vehicle collision along State Route 51 left an occupant pinned inside their vehicle.

Units were alerted on Saturday, October 24, 2026, for a reported crash with personal entrapment in the 1300 block of State Route 51. Deputy 1 and the department's Rescue Company arrived promptly on scene, confirming a vehicle collision with one person trapped within the passenger compartment.

Operating alongside Engine 2, rescue crews deployed vehicle stabilization and hydraulic tools to breach the vehicle, remove structural obstructions, and safely disentangle the patient. Following extrication, the patient was transferred to the care of South East Regional EMS paramedics and transported by ambulance to an area hospital for medical evaluation and treatment.

Fire-Rescue personnel remained on the highway for an additional period to manage traffic safety around the scene, assist with hazard mitigation, and clear collision debris from the roadway before reopening the corridor and returning all apparatus to service.
