At 8:54 pm on October 28, the Limerick Fire Department was dispatched to a reported vehicle rescue on 422 eastbound between Evergreen Rd and N. Lewis Rd. Multiple callers reported a crash involving several vehicles, including a truck that had crossed the median from the westbound lanes into the eastbound lanes.

Responding units included Assistant 51, Chief 51, Rescue 51, Squad 51, Special Service 51, Utility 51, 51 Fire Police, Pennsylvania State Police, and Freedom Valley EMS. 51 Fire Police shut down two westbound lanes, while 58 Fire Police were dispatched to close the left eastbound lane for the duration of the incident.

Fortunately, no rescue was required. The drivers of both vehicles involved were evaluated at the scene by EMS. Tow trucks were called to remove the vehicles, and PennDOT was dispatched to cut the median guidewires to allow the box truck to be extracted. Crews cleared the debris from the roadway, secured the vehicles, and provided scene lighting. The last of the units on scene was made available around 11:15 pm.
