October 13, 2025 — Following a night of heavy rain and strong winds, Bedford Fire Department crews were out Monday morning responding to multiple weather-related incidents.
Car 2041 and Engine 109 were dispatched to Aspetong Road for a report of a tree and primary power lines down. Working alongside NYSEG crews, firefighters ensured the area was made safe. Once the power was isolated, crews doused the surrounding area to prevent any potential fire spread.
The department reminded residents to always treat downed power lines as live and extremely dangerous, urging the public to stay clear and contact authorities immediately when such hazards are discovered.
