Varysburg Fire Teaches Safety at Attica Elementary

October 6, 2025 — Members of the Varysburg Volunteer Fire Department visited Attica Elementary School on Monday as part of Fire Prevention Week activities, giving students a firsthand look at the tools and equipment firefighters use to protect their communities.

Chief Adam Vetter, pictured demonstrating various pieces of fire apparatus, spoke with students about the importance of fire safety and how firefighters use their gear during emergencies. Second Assistant Chief Mike Pilc also attended, helping answer students’ questions and engage them in the learning experience.

The department reported that the event was a success, with perfect weather and enthusiastic participation from students and staff alike.

Varysburg Fire expressed appreciation to the Attica Elementary School community for the opportunity to share fire prevention education and inspire young learners to stay safe.
